Welcome to Calligraphy by Phoebe. I'm Phoebe, 20, and started learning calligraphy six years ago. I really found a passion for this skill and as I continue to love writing in this style, I decided to create a business in October 2020. It all started with a card range that was popular in my local village based in the Cotswolds. This quickly grew over the next year, which lead me to expand into multiple card ranges and onto handmade products.
It started as a distraction and source of joy for me, as I was a 14 year old who had just gone through spinal surgery to correct my scoliosis, and this is what has kept me sane through a difficult recovery. Through the ups and downs over the last few years, it has been something to focus on and continue, and thankfully I am now feeling stronger than I ever have.

After leaving school in 2022, I had a gap year where I did so much travelling, and found the joy of being able to run this business remotely as well as see the world! It was so refreshing to have time to prioritise this, as well as some time for me to enjoy.
Fast forward to September 2023 and I started university, where I have become a student teacher. This has been the best experience so far, and truly a life long dream of mine to teach primary. It is amazing to be able to do both ventures alongside each other, and really fulfilling to see both grow and develop.
I am amazed by the support I have been given and the beautiful comments I have received in my village and now the wider towns surrounding, as well as people all over the world. I have created the best online community as well as branching out to do markets and craft fairs in the South West.
